Summary

A special broadcast reviewing the day's March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom. Walter Cronkite tells the story of America's biggest civil rights demonstration with clips of the day's highlights. Includes the baritone Leon Bibb and Lena Horne, and continues with background on the four previous marches on Washington; Marian Anderson sings; Walter Reuther, Roy Wilkins, and Martin Luther King, Jr. speak; and Mahalia Jackson sings. Robert Pierpoint interviews Sen. Strom Thurmond and Sen. Philip Hart. Concludes with John F. Kennedy's meeting with the ten leaders of the march.
