DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, THE: MY BLONDE-HAIRED BRUNETTE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedy programs about the personal and professional life of Rob Petrie, the head comedy writer for television's "Alan Brady Show." In this episode, Rob's inattentiveness convinces Laura that the spark has gone out of their marriage. She allows her best friend Millie to convince her to dye her hair platinum blonde in an attempt to get Rob's attention; she is horrified by the result, and doubly so when Rob, realizing he has taken Laura for granted, calls from the office to praise her beautiful dark brown hair. Laura and Millie panic, having less than an hour to re-dye Laura's hair back to its original color before Rob returns home. He arrives to find the job half-done, with his wife a two-toned, hysterical, adorable mess. Commercials deleted.
