In the third heat of the women’s 100m qualifiers, Blessing Okagbare (Nigeria) wins with a time of 10.93, Tianna Madison (USA) takes second place with a time of 10.97, and Michelle Lee Ahye (Trinidad and Tobago) takes third place with a time of 11.28.

Costas introduces the women’s 200m backstroke ceremony in which Missy Franklin (USA) stands for her third gold medal.
