COLGATE {TED BATES: COLGATE HISTORICAL REEL}
Summary
In this commercial for Colgate, television host Ed Sullivan explains that while a handicap may be helpful when playing golf, it's not an asset when you're starting a new romance. The scene shifts to a golf course, where two young lovers are practicing their swings. The announcer proceeds to point out that Colgate stops bad breath while it protects your teeth against decay. Just as an invisible plastic shield protects the announcer from an errant golf ball, Colgate with Gardol protects your teeth with an invisible shield. Slogan (supered and in jingle): "You stop bad breath with Colgate. Fight tooth decay all day."
