Summary

One in this series of dramas re-enacting major historical events and covering them as current news stories. This program dramatizes the May 30, 1431 execution of Joan of Arc in Rouen, France. Highlights of this dramatization include the following: Daly explains that Joan, tried as a sorceress, will be saved from burning at the stake only if she recants; Howe reviews the trial; Daly talks with Bishop Pierre Cauchon (the Judge at Joan's trial) and with the Earl of Warwick (The English Commander who captured Joan); Hollenbeck reports as Joan refuses to recant; Roberts comments on the angry mob awaiting Joan; and Joan is burned at the stake.
