One in this dramatic anthology series. In this program, William Shatner gives an intense performance as Ben Tate, the hotheaded brother of a man, Jesse, who has been found guilty of murder and is awaiting execution. Ben and his elder brother Mannon, who believe their brother innocent, attempt to find a way to save Jesse from his fate. Mannon calmly appeals to the judge, his former father-in-law, for a stay of execution. When this fails, the Tate brothers take Mannon's ex-wife, Julie, and the sheriff hostage. The judge goes into town to appeal to the murder victim's family. As the time for the hanging approaches, Mannon decides to stop the execution himself, but fails when he is shot in the shoulder. Mannon returns to Ben with Jesse's body. Ben becomes mad with rage. He decides that he and Mannon should hang the sheriff to avenge Jesse's death, but Mannon is more interested in learning the truth about the murder. Includes commercials and promos.
