One in this series of news magazine programs for children. This English-language version of this program from France uses animated news anchors, computer animation, and live-action news footage to introduce children to new ideas in the field of science. The three news anchors -- Theodore, a wise tiger; Charly, an impertinent chimp; and Felicity, a charming frog -- report on the following endangered species: bears; ibexes, a type of wild mountain goat; and manatees, also known as sea cows, which once may have been mistaken for mermaids. Theo the tiger reports on the plight of bears worldwide, discussing several topics including the natural habits of bears and bear cubs, the decimation of entire bear species by humans and wild dogs, and the effects of the disappearing forests on the bears. In another endangered species report, Charly the chimp discusses a satellite surveillance system that is being used to protect ibexes in a French national park; the wild goats living in an unprotected area of Italy are transported and reintroduced to the protected area in the park. And finally, Felicity the frog reports on the plight of the aquatic manatee, noting that the creature's gentle nature leaves it virtually defenseless against humans. Additionally, Felicity outlines the process by which the manatee keeps irrigation canals and human-made lakes clear of debris. No commercials.
