JACK BENNY PROGRAM FOR GRAPE-NUTS AND GRAPE-NUTS FLAKES, THE (RADIO)

Summary

One in this series of comedy/variety shows regularly hosted by Jack Benny. Orson Welles substitutes for Benny, who is ill. In this program, Phil Harris, Mary Livingstone, and Dennis Day visit Welles at his movie studio, where Welles has given Rochester a job as his valet. After revising the movie script, Welles arrives on his movie set with great fanfare. He performs one of announcer Don Wilson's commercials in his own style, explains what his movie is about, and gives Harris and Livingstone parts in it. Music for this program includes two orchestra numbers and Dennis Day singing "Black Magic." Includes commercials. (Series title varies; as above, 1942-1943.)
