MERCURY THEATRE ON THE AIR: FIRST PERSON SINGULAR: THE THIRTY-NINE STEPS, PT. 2 {REHEARSAL} (RADIO)

Summary

Continued from R88:0184. Part two of two in the final rehearsal of "The Thirty-nine Steps," one in this dramatic anthology series -- featuring adaptations of well-known novels, plays, and films -- produced, directed, written, hosted, and performed by Orson Welles, with the Mercury Theatre Company. In this part, Richard Hannay (Welles) visits the seaside house suspected of being the enemy agents' hideout. It appears to be a vacation home, but the agents eventually give themselves away and are arrested. After the program, Welles returns for his closing remarks, but decides to omit them, joking that he has nothing to say. John Houseman also provides closing comments.
