DREW CAREY SHOW, THE: DREW GOES TO HELL (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedies starring stand-up comedian Drew Carey as a single guy who attempts to juggle his romantic endeavors and his menial job at a Cleveland department store, while still maintaining his sense of humor. Drew has a new assistant, Malcolm, whose assistance Drew enjoys immensely. The Winfred-Louder board of directors elects Drew to select the new regional manager. Drew hopes to finally get promoted to the vacant position of director of personnel, but his request seems to be denied. Nigel offers Drew a deal: if he makes Nigel the new regional manager, he will give Drew his old position of store manager. Drew believes that doing so would be unethical, but Nigel keeps trying to tempt Drew into cooperating with his plan. The next day, Drew is dismayed to learn that Malcolm has been fired and that the position of director of personnel has been phased out, ruining his chances for promotion. In light of these changes, a frustrated Drew agrees to Nigel's plan. Upon being coerced into approving Nigel's promotion, Drew witnesses as Nigel swiftly disposes of Drew's rival Johnson by framing him for an attempted crime. Mimi also blackmails Nigel into making her a part of their deal in order to keep their actions secret. Drew, feeling guilty about what he's done, accompanies Nigel to a hell-themed bar in order to celebrate their promotions. Kate, Lewis, and Oswald arrive as well, but are quickly disgusted when they learn what Nigel and Drew did, and decide to leave. Drew goes into work the next day to find that the board did not accept Nigel as regional manager and have sent him to Toledo for retraining. However, they still allow Drew to take up the position of store manager, believing that he is the best choice for the job. Drew is ecstatic; Nigel believes Drew set him up and vows that he will have his revenge. Includes commercials.
