ONCE AND AGAIN: MEDITATION (TV)
Summary
One in this dramatic series about Rick Sammler and Lily Manning, two middle-aged parents who deal with the realities of divorce while they cope with raising their children and dating. The format of this series combines a traditional story line with revealing soliloquies by some of the main characters. In this episode, Grace tutors Eli in English, which leads to tension at home since Rick and Lily haven't been getting along lately. Meanwhile, Lily and Jake have regular meetings with a mediator to plan the terms of their divorce, causing many arguments and recriminations. Jake is convinced that they need to sell the house in order to keep the restaurant going and establish their two separate households, but Lily is adamant about not uprooting the children. Rick's partner, David is having trouble appeasing Miles Drentell, an exacting and taciturn client, so Miles asks Rick to take over the project. David compares feeling betrayed in business to Rick's being betrayed by Lily, thus causing Rick to arrange a meeting with her to clear the air. Their reunion doesn't have the effect Lily had hoped for because Rick announces that although they have tried to make their relationship work, he feels the timing is all wrong. However, their good-bye kiss turns into something else, and a reconciliation seems imminent. Includes commercials, promos, and election results.
