SEEING EAR THEATRE PRESENTS: CLIVE BARKER'S THE HISTORY OF THE DEVIL {PT. 2 OF 5} (RADIO)

Summary

Continued from R:22308. Part two of five. One in this series of radio dramas. This religious-commentary saga features Lucifer, Jesus Christ, and a successful New York lawyer named Samuel Kyle. As the story resumes, Ulla Shim is on the witness stand at Lucifer's trial. Shim recalls finding Lucifer with her dead daughter Pia, whom he had raped as well as killed, illustrating the Devil's history of earthly crime. The defense calls Yapshi Knishka, a twelve-year-old boy, to the stand. The boy tells the story of the "day the barbarians came"; the defense then points out that Yapshi's testimony demonstrates that Lucifer was not responsible for any acts of violence. The prosecution calls Jesus Christ to the witness stand, but he is absent from the courtroom. As a substitute, Jesus's personal diary is offered, and a selection is read. This selection tells a story that includes a fight between Jesus and the defendent and details their newly discovered competition -- as messiahs. Continues with R:22310. Commercials deleted.
