DARK ANGEL: COLD COMFORT (TV)
Summary
One in this series about Max, a genetically engineered soldier prototype; Logan, an underground cyber-journalist; and their struggles to uncover Max's mysterious past and bring justice to the post-apocalyptic world of 2019. In this episode, one of Max's sister's, Brin, is on the run. Brin calls Zack for help, but before he can do anything Colonel Lydecker and his people capture her. Meanwhile, Normal tells the employees at Jam Pony that a businessman by the name of Mr. Sivapathasundaram is interested in buying the company. Normal proposes a roster of changes for Jam Pony's image and operational procedure, to be instituted in preparation for the prospective boss's visit. These plans dismay the employees, to say the least. Logan helps Max and Zack get some details on Lydecker; later, they kidnap him as he is leaving an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Meanwhile, the employees over at Jam Pony, led by Sketchy and Original Cindy, debilitate Normal with laxatives and then stage a toxic spill when the dreaded Mr. Sivapathasundaram arrives. After tying Lydecker up, Max and Zack demand that he reveal Brin's location, but he claims not to have her. He explains that any number of people are dying to get their hands on Manticore technology, and that Brin's DNA is worth millions. Max soon discovers that Lydecker appears to be telling the truth; an illegal arms dealer who is a former colleague of Lydecker, Major Jake Sanders, has put Brin on the market. Lydecker convinces Max and Zack to let him help them rescue Brin, but he double-crosses them, and Max and Zack end up in a cell with their sister -- who has developed a serious condition that is making her age rapidly. When Max manages to bluff the guards, the three of them escape, but they soon realize that Brin's sickness is killing her. At the conclusion of the program, Max and Zack argue over an important question: should they turn Brin over to Lydecker for treatment? Commercials deleted.
