WAY OUT {'WAY OUT}: HUSH HUSH (TV)

Summary

One in this fantasy/science fiction anthology series, hosted by Roald Dahl. In this episode, Professor Ernest Lydecker and his assistant William Rogers are successful in their experiments tranquilizing small mammals with sound waves. Lydecker's wife, Bernice, arrives and chastises him for not making their lunch date; she tells him that he had better arrive on time for their dinner with the Ainsleys that evening. That night, Lydecker becomes immersed in his experiments and forgets all about the dinner party. Bernice arrives in the laboratory and throws a tantrum over his lack of attention to her. Lydecker becomes desperate to calm her down, and he finally relaxes her with the help of his sonic machine. She becomes peaceful and much more agreeable, but loud noises cause her to react very violently, and catastrophe ensues. Includes commercials, promos, and public service announcements. Promos include Charles Collingswood for "Person to Person" and Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster for "Holiday Lodge."

Cataloged in memory of Reuben Joseph, who shared this with his son.
