Summary
One in this comedy series about a quartet of nerdy scientists in Pasadena and their attempts to master the cooler aspects of life and love. In this episode, Sheldon reveals that he has been corresponding with a world-famous physicist, Elizabeth Plimpton, and that she will be coming to stay for a few days, much to the other boys’ shock.
When Elizabeth arrives, she is undaunted by Sheldon’s fumbling for “female-oriented” provisions and obsessive home organization. She also becomes charmed by Leonard’s fawning idolization, leading to the pair's impulsive romantic night together.
The next morning, Sheldon is scandalized by the coupling, once he is brought up to speed by a jealous and resentful Penny. Despite this, Leonard is pleased with himself while bragging to Raj and Howard at work about his "sleepless night."
However, Elizabeth's affections soon turn to Raj, who takes advantage of a cold and swills alcoholic cough medicine in order to be able to talk to her. Later, when Leonard and Howard accidentally intrude on Raj’s date with Elizabeth, she invites the two of them to “join in.” The boys are then forced to decide how far they are willing to go in pursuing her. Commercials deleted.
