DYNASTY: THE BALL (TV)
Summary
One in this night-time serial about the wealthy Carrington family of Denver, Colorado.
Blake is in Acapulco for an oil developer’s conference when Alexis invites herself into his hotel room, much to his displeasure. Krystle tries to phone Blake but Alexis picks up while he’s in the other room. Krystle, distressed, hangs up. Alexis says she is in Acapulco because she wants in on the sale of Blake’s oil leases, but Blake staunchly refuses to do business with her. Meanwhile, Krystle is spending an increasing amount of time with Daniel Reece while Blake is away.
Blake introduces Amanda to Prince Michael of Moldavia, also in Acapulco for the conference. He also meets an old friend, Lady Ashley Mitchell. Alexis and Dex also arrive and insinuate themselves into the meeting. Ashley invites them all to a party she is hosting. Meanwhile, Claudia talks to Luke about Steven’s recent behavior. She asks him to give Steven some space while he decides who it is he wants to be with and he agrees.
Jeff catches Nicole wearing Fallon’s old dress and he becomes infuriated, yelling at her to take it off. She slaps him and forces him out of the room while she does so. Adam speaks to Jeff about Dominique putting her Carrington stock up as collateral for a loan. Jeff does not give Adam any answers. Later, Adam confides in Claudia about how Blake doesn’t seem to trust him anymore. He thinks that Blake has always favored Jeff over him, and is outraged that Blake doesn’t consider him the rightful heir to the Carrington fortune.
The next day, Claudia confronts Steven about their relationship. She says it can’t work out, and needs him to figure out who he wants, her or Luke. He seems unhappy with this arrangement and leaves. Meanwhile, Krystle is out skeet-shooting with Daniel and expresses her feelings of being left out upon finding out that Alexis is in Acapulco. In Acapulco, Blake receives a photograph of Krystle and Daniel together from an unknown source.
At Ashley’s party, Blake speaks to Ashley about his leases while Dex and Alexis speak to a Chinese businessman named Han Li Su. Alexis tries to convince him to let ColbyCo in on the deal between his government and Denver-Carrington. She then speaks to Blake about how he seems to be getting closer to Ashley. Meanwhile, Prince Michael asks Amanda to dance. Dex watches and warns Amanda about getting involved with Prince Michael, but she brushes him off.
Prince Michael and Amanda dance together late into the night. The next morning, Alexis again confronts Blake about the leases, saying she will meet or exceed any offer he is given. When he again refuses she tries to use her deal with Han as leverage, but Blake is still determined to keep her out of the deal and leaves.
Jeff finds Nicole and apologizes for yelling at her. She says she understands that he still misses Fallon, but that she’ll try to make him love her. Jeff prepares to take Nicole out with his son, but LB doesn’t want her around and says he’ll never love her before running off.
Amanda and Prince Michael return from their beach date. He tries to seduce her, but she acts coy and plays hard to get. They have dinner and part ways. Dex warns Amanda about Prince Michael, saying he’s only interested in her to get to the Carrington fortune. Amanda asserts that she is in total control of the situation.
While Blake is negotiating with Han, trying to convince him not to do business with Alexis, he receives a call from Krystle. Ashley sets Han straight on Blake’s personal and professional relationship with Alexis. Blake notes Krystle’s connection to Daniel before he has to hang up. After Han and his associates leave, Ashley talks to Blake about his feelings towards Krystle.
Daniel is rooting through photographs, making cryptic comments about a “mission” he will soon have to undergo. Krystle arrives and he hides his partner, inviting her out for a ride on his horses. On the ride Krystle loses control of her horse and is thrown down a hill. Daniel rushes to her but she is mostly unhurt. The episode ends as Daniel and Krystle kiss. Commercials deleted.
