HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, THE {SECRET SQUARES: BARBARA EDEN; WALLY COX} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of game shows in which contestants must guess whether one of nine celebrities arrayed on an enormous tic-tac-toe board has correctly answered a trivia question. Host Peter Marshall queries contestants and celebrities, including actress Rose Marie, actor Walter Matthau, actress Barbara Eden, actor Morey Amsterdam, comedian Charley Weaver (a.k.a. Cliff Arquette), actor Robert Morse, comedian Wally Cox, actress Abby Dalton and comedian Buddy Hackett.
In this program, "Ms. O" Peggy Thurston plays against "Mr. X" Bob Whitestone, and Eden is the first "secret square." Mr. X mistakenly agrees with Eden's guess about opera and misses out on a trip to Tokyo and Hong Kong, but wins $300 when he agrees with Matthau's guess. In the second round, neither contestant picks secret square Cox, and Mr. X wins again after agreeing with Hackett.
Mr. X again wins the third round, bringing his total to $900, and when the game ends, Ms. O receives $100 for her two squares and Mr. X goes home with $1,050 and a color television set. Commercials deleted.
