HOLLYWOOD SQUARES, THE {SECRET SQUARES: CARL REINER; CASS ELLIOT} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of game shows in which contestants must guess whether one of nine celebrities arrayed on an enormous tic-tac-toe board has correctly answered a trivia question. Host Peter Marshall queries contestants and celebrities, including socialite/actress Eva Gabor, entertainer Joey Bishop, producer/director Carl Reiner, actor/comedian Wally Cox, singer Cass Elliot, comedian Rich Little, actress Lucie Arnaz, comedian Buddy Hackett and actor/comedian Paul Lynde. In this program, college student Betty Smith, "Miss O," battles income tax consultant Lee Gibson, "Mr. X." In the first round, Reiner is revealed to be the secret square and Smith wins the prize for selecting him, though Gibson wins the round and $250 thanks to a correct answer from Hackett. Gibson also wins the second round, thanks to Cox, though Elliot, the secret square, is not selected. The final round ends without a winner, and Smith goes home with $50 and the secret-square prize, and Gibson takes home $650 and a new Chevrolet sedan automobile. Commercials deleted.
