BIG BANG THEORY, THE: THE VEGAS RENORMALIZATION (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about a quartet of nerdy scientists in Pasadena and their attempts to master the cooler aspects of life and love. In this episode, Howard gets a call from Leslie, who he identifies to the group as being a "friend with benefits." Leonard unsuccessfully tries to explain the phrase's meaning to Sheldon.
Though Howard pretends that nothing is wrong, he soon admits that Leslie has dumped him. Leonard and Raj agree to take Howard to Las Vegas to change his thoughts, though Sheldon refuses to join them. Sheldon soon regrets his actions when he locks himself out of the apartment. Turning to Penny, Sheldon is forced to act friendly to her as they search the premises for a spare key.
In Vegas, Raj is thrilled when he's propositioned by a woman named Mikayla. However, Leonard clues him in to the fact that she's a prostitute. They then decide to hire Mikayla to cheer up Howard. Back at home, Penny and Sheldon's situation gets increasingly awkward, as he asks her about her sexual history and "friends with benefits." Ultimately, the two realize that he's going to have to stay the night in her apartment.
Meanwhile, Mikayla comes on to Howard by pretending to be Jewish. Though he realizes that she's a hooker, Howard is delighted at his friends' tactics. The next morning, Leonard returns home and sees Sheldon leaving Penny's apartment. Sheldon informs Leonard that he now has a better understanding of "friends with benefits." Commercials deleted.
