DIRTY SEXY MONEY: THE CONVERTIBLE (TV)
Summary
On in this drama series about a troubled lawyer whose life is overtaken by his employers: a super-rich, morally-challenged family in New York City. In this episode, Karen complains to her mother about her four failed marriages and her unhappy life, and Nick is angered to find that Lisa has abruptly taken Kiki out of town without informing him. Tripp asks Patrick to convince Congressman Whatley to reverse his negative position on Simon's biofuel project now that Tripp and Simon are business partners, and Nick asks to borrow Tripp's jet in order to quickly retrieve Kiki from D.C. Jeremy assures Nola that Simon is still fooled by his "amnesia," but she tells him that he will have to cleverly get close to Simon in order to find her brother. Nick is surprised when both Brian and Karen join him on the flight to D.C., and Karen reveals that she is traveling to a sperm bank, having decided to have a child on her own. Brian, heading to a state dinner of Patrick's, points out that Nick is in no position to judge her parenting abilities, but they are all alarmed when the plane experiences turbulence. Nola admits to Simon that she is dating Jeremy, though assures him that he still remembers nothing, and Whatley flatly refuses Patrick's request, aware that Tripp is simply trying to manipulate him to make a profit.
As the plane seemingly begins to crash, Karen declares her love for Nick and he agrees that she is "the one," but the plane then lands harmlessly in Pennsylvania, forcing the three of them to drive the rest of the way. Karen questions Nick about his feelings for her, and when Patrick reveals that there is no state dinner, Brian admits that he is really meeting with his ex-wife, Mei Ling Hwa, who has requested to have "closure" sex with him one final time. Simon informs Jeremy that Nola is dangerous and is seeking to destroy his family through their relationship, and when Karen describes her ideal "donor," the sperm bank worker points out that Nick fits her specifications. When he turns down the idea, she guesses that he is comparing her unfavorably to Lisa and emotionally states that she wants one "pure" thing in her life, and matters grow worse when the rental car breaks down. Patrick informs Tripp that Whatley hates him too much to agree to change his vote, but Tripp urges him to win him over. Jeremy tells Nola that Simon is definitely convinced, though she guesses that Simon is testing him by revealing her "secrets," and Lisa is annoyed when Nick arrives in D.C. and demands to see Kiki, informing him that he is merely trying to make him for lost time with his daughter.
Brian lectures Nick about standing up to Lisa and proving himself as a parent, and Karen agrees that Nick is a good father and again tries to entice him into fathering her child. Mei Ling Hwa arrives and greets Brian, and Patrick apologizes to Whatley for his father's behavior, but Whatley then makes his romantic intentions towards him clear and Patrick realizes that Tripp had been blackmailing Whatley with sensitive information. Nick finds that Lisa is seeing someone new, Edward, and angrily tells Lisa that he will pursue legal action against her if Kiki is not back in New York by Monday. Nola tells Simon that Jeremy hit her in a rage after their conversation, and Simon's car then explodes in what is clearly an attempt on his life. On the repaired plane, Brian admits to Nick that he could not bring himself to cheat on Andrea and suggests that Nick and Karen having a baby "wouldn't be the worst thing." Nick tells Karen that he does indeed love her and is "open" to having a kid, but Karen then privately admits to Tish that she is already pregnant – with Simon's child. Simon informs Jeremy that he knows about the amnesia lie, but will allow Jeremy to "rescue" Nola's brother after all if Jeremy agrees to kill someone: Simon himself. Includes commercials and promos.
