JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE! {HUGH JACKMAN, JOHN CHO, FLO RIDA} (TV)

Summary

One in this series of live late-night talk shows hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. This episode's guests include actor Hugh Jackman, actor John Cho and musical guest Flo Rida. The show opens with Uncle Frank's conversation with an amorous microwave, and in his opening monologue, Kimmel touches on the following topics, among others: "Rock Week" on "American Idol," including judge Paula Abdul's lip-synced performance; Oprah Winfrey's conversation with Elizabeth Edwards, wife of adulterous politician John Edwards; a contestant's bizarre confession on "Make Me a Supermodel"; Maine's recent decision to legalize gay marriage; the upcoming Mother's Day; a lawsuit involving heiress Paris Hilton; outlandish comments from Los Angeles Lakers player Ron Artest; and security guard Guillermo Rodriguez's disappointment with Los Angeles Dodgers player Manny Ramirez, who was suspended for using performance-enhancing drugs.

Next, Kimmel announces that bandleader Cleto Escobedo has recently become a father. The first guest, Jackman, takes the stage and discusses his son Oscar's tepid interest in basketball and habit of rooting for the visiting teams; the advantages of having a famous dad; how he landed his iconic role of Wolverine, originally intended for Scottish actor Dougray Scott; his inconvenient hairstyle during his audition; his wife Deborra-Lee Furness' initial negative reaction to the first "X-Men" (2000) script; his strict training regimen and high-protein diet, including some embarrassing "side effects," for the Wolverine role; and his recent role as host of the Academy Awards and three-time hosting duties at the Tony Awards. A clip is shown from his new film "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" (2009).

Next, Cho sits down with Kimmel and discusses his one-year-old son and his parents' arrival for the doljanchi, a traditional Korean ceremony in which an infant selects an item that will symbolically determine his or her future; hints about an upcoming third "Harold and Kumar" film, possibly delayed because of co-star Kal Penn's new White House job; the real-life "epic partier" on whom Cho's character of Harold is based; and his action-heavy role as Hikaru Sulu in "Star Trek" (2009).

Finally, Flo Rida and singer Wynter Gordon perform "Sugar" and "Right Round" from his new album "R.O.O.T.S." Includes commercial and promos.
