BROTHERS & SISTERS: FAKING IT (TV)
Summary
One in this drama series about the California-based Walker family, an adult clan of siblings trying to live up to their parents' lofty expectations after the death of the family patriarch.
In this episode, Luc insists on taking Sarah out for her birthday. After telling him that she wants a low-key affair for her "40th," Sarah gets a call from Kitty, who's trying to change her thoughts in a remote cottage in Ojai with young Evan. Kitty spills the beans that Luc has planned a surprise party with the rest of the family. Sarah then admits she's been lying to Luc about her age, being self-conscious about their age difference. Nora is also wary of being perceived as "an older woman." While working for Zoe, Nora runs into old friend Celia Calmartin, who has had plastic surgery and suggests the same for Nora. Sarah agrees to accompany Nora to the doctor's office.
Elsewhere, David tells Rebecca that Holly is starting to regain some of her memory and -- after hearing stories from Justin -- wants to meet with Rebecca. Rebecca then goes to see Justin but won't enter their house and leaves after a brief exchange. Back in Ojai, Kitty flirts with Jack Randall, the handsome plumber she hired to fix her kitchen pipes. When he rails against politicians and "city folk," Kitty introduces herself as country-bred Leslie Culpepper. When Kevin arrives, he goes along with Kitty's ruse before arranging for Kitty to cook supper for Jack. Kevin assures Kitty that, with Robert's passing, it's time to move on.
Nora, Kevin, and Scotty attend Luc's birthday dinner for Sarah. When Saul and Justin enter the eatery, Justin shocks the group by revealing that he and Rebecca divorced during his recent tour of Afghanistan. He then blows the lid off Sarah pretending to be 40. Kitty's secret also gets spilled when her dinner for Jack fizzles, forcing her to confess her true identity. He agrees to her request to make a hasty exit. Meanwhile, Rebecca bonds with Holly while talking about work but the two become flustered after Rebecca realizes that Holly doesn't know she's her mother. Rebecca goes back to see Justin, who claims that he's changed. Rebecca says she can't trust him, but the two fall into an embrace. Jack then returns to Kitty's house with pizza, stating that he respects her goal to re-invent herself. As Saul talks Nora out of plastic surgery, Luc tells a horrified Sarah that he's always known her real age.
The next day, Kitty makes Evan a treat, then admits that it came from a package. Meanwhile, Nora quits her job at the florist's shop after Zoe delivers one insult too many. Nora tells her that she's proud of her age and experience. Finally, David calls 911 and reports that Holly has been missing since the previous night. Includes commercials.
