ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN: VENOM (TV)
Summary
One in this animated series about the adventures of the superhero Spider-man, a.k.a. Queens high schooler / budding photographer Peter Parker.
In this episode, Spider-man takes a death-defying ride through the subway tunnels on his "Spider-cycle" to battle a metal monster, lamenting that "robots just hate him." After defeating the robot with electricity, he rushes off to school and is aided by best bud Harry Osborn, who invites him over for a movie marathon. Peter, however, is waylaid by his other "friends" Luke, Ava, Danny and Sam, about whose secret superhero identities Harry is unaware. Elsewhere, Norman Osborn finds Dr. Otto "Doc Ock" Octavius and orders him to speed up his experiments with a sample of Spider-man's DNA, stolen during the subway chase, which Octavius describes as "distilled aggression." Back at school, Harry is offended when Peter seemingly ditches him in favor of his other friends, and Mary Jane advises Peter to smooth things over by bringing them along to Harry's movie night.
At the Osborn penthouse, Harry watch J. Jonah Jameson's latest rant about Spider-man and decides to change his plans for the evening; when Peter arrives with the other superheroes in tow, he is shocked to see that the quiet movie night has turned into an all-out rager. Back at the lab, Octavius informs Osborn that the "new life form" has escaped and will likely return to its biological source – Spider-man; Peter's spider-sense warns him just in time to save Flash Thompson from the bizarre symbiote creature when it emerges from Harry's "fancy toilet." The other students flee as Power Man, White Tiger, Iron Fist and Nova "arrive" to help Spider-man fight the monster. As M.J. attempts to get the "scoop" on the strange fight, the symbiote possesses Peter and declares itself to be "Venom." Peter's friends attempt to rescue him from the substance, and they finally destroy Venom with another blast of electricity. Spider-man reassures a worried Harry that his "best friend" Peter is safe. Norman Osborn later visits Octavius to demand an "improved prototype." Harry cleans up the penthouse and agrees to give Peter's new friends a chance – and covertly captures a bit of the surviving symbiote. Commercials deleted.
