TWO BROKE GIRLS {2 BROKE GIRLS}: AND THE TEMPORARY DISTRACTION (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about an acerbic Brooklynite and an Upper East Side socialite who try to fund their cupcake-shop dreams by waitressing at a diner. In this episode, Caroline waits on an attractively androgynous customer who confuses everyone with her appeal. Later, Caroline is surprised to see that Max is still baking despite the closing of their cupcake store, as she feels "betrayed" by the pastries. Max receives a call from her old temp agency and urges Caroline to take a job with her, though Caroline is reluctant, still sad about their former dream. They are assigned to an office, and Max advises Caroline to give a fake name and do as little as possible. They are shown a sexual-harassment training video and encounter their corny boss, Eli, but Caroline is more interesting in doing actual work. While Max wastes time on YouTube, Caroline shows initiative and impresses Eli, who tells her to apply for a junior executive position. Han is annoyed, but Caroline lands the job and becomes Max's boss. They celebrate and Caroline offers Max a job as her executive assistant, but Max refuses, saying that she has not given up on her cupcakes. Caroline, however, explains that she feels like a failure and wants to move on from their "temporary" dream.

Inspired by the video, Max accuses Caroline of sexual harassment, and she is called into Human Resources, where she fails to give a suitable explanation and is fired. Angry, she demands an answer for Max's trick, but Max points out that she is unused to failing and attempted to throw herself into a new dream too quickly, and Caroline decides to rejoin Max in baking and selling at the diner for extra money. Sophie is delighted at the return of the cupcakes, and their new total comes to five dollars. Commercials deleted.
