DON'T TRUST THE B---- IN APARTMENT 23: A WEEKEND IN THE HAMPTONS . . . (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about Indiana native June Colburn and her adventures with her outrageous roommate Chloe in New York City.

In this episode, Chloe announces an "emergency" trip to the Hamptons, explaining that they need to distract James, still depressed over his "Dancing with the Stars" fiasco, with a hearty "bender." She declares her intentions to finally meet and seduce the mysterious Willoughby, known for his Gatsby-like blowouts, though June is distracted by her worries over a potential new job. She proceeds to ruin the "party drive" out to Long Island with her dorky tourist interests as James suffers through his "DWTS PTSD," and Chloe is annoyed to find that hostess and former party-girl Katarina is now saddled with infant twins. While bird-watching, June runs into Mark – and Willoughby himself, who invites her to his latest party. James wanders off alone, tailed by a worried Luther, and when he runs into a newly dumped Mark, he declares them "bender buddies" for the weekend.

Chloe is amazed to learn of June's fateful run-in, and they head off to the lavish party, where Chloe is outraged to find that "Willoughby" is none other than Bernard Koppelman, her own husband. She tells a shocked June that they impulsively married at a party several years earlier and then went their separate ways. Bernard thanks June for helping to "explode this prison" that he has created. Mark drunkenly encourages James to reclaim his dancing dream on his own, and they head to the party, where James finally performs his carefully rehearsed routine. Chloe, depressed about "Willoughby," enjoys her annual Hamptons encounter with rocker Lenny Kravitz and decides that familiar experiences can still be fun. When June finally gets a message from the financial company, Chloe urges her to "go where the bender takes her" and return to the city for the interview. James resolves to write and direct his own movie, though Mark can't bring himself to admit his truth – that he secretly loves June. Meanwhile, Luther helps Katarina return to her formerly glamorous ways. June then reappears and announces that she landed the junior analyst job and wants to celebrate with her friends. Includes commercials and promos.
