Summary
One in this series of nighttime talk shows hosted by Chris Rock. This episode features guest appearances by actor Morgan Freeman and musical group Lucy Pearl. In his opening monologue, Rock comments on the following topics: Anne Heche's eccentric behavior following her split from Ellen DeGeneres; the not-so-surprising divorce of rapper Eminem and his wife; the extremely high ratings of the "Survivor" finale; a violent brawl at the recent Source Magazine Awards; the movements of Hurricane Debbie; and Tiger Woods' victory at the PGA Tournament. A commercial is shown for "BET's Survivor," a slightly less glamorous "rip-off" of the popular program, and Rock introduces his own reality show, "Halle Berry 911," in which the notoriously accident-prone Hollywood star injures a variety of people with her reckless driving.
Morgan then joins Rock onstage and discusses the following: his advice for young actors; his talent for playing villains and dark characters despite his easygoing nature; his role as the President in "Deep Impact" (1998); and his role as a hitman in the upcoming "Nurse Betty" (2000). Rock then talks to a political analyst, "A Black Guy," about the previous week's Democratic National Convention, touching upon the performances of Al Gore and George W. Bush, whether Gore's selection of the Jewish Joe Lieberman as his running mate creates a "miracle ticket," and the candidates' favorite political issues. Finally, Lucy Pearl performs "Don't Mess With My Man."
