DISNEY PARKS FROZEN CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION (TV)
Summary
This program features the annual Disney Christmas Day parade, which this year focuses on the wildly successful animated feature "Frozen" (2013). Host Robin Roberts reports from Walt Disney World in Florida alongside football star Tim Tebow, while Rob Marciano hosts from Disneyland in Anaheim, California and "Modern Family" star Sarah Hyland reports from the Aulani Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii. Singer Ariana Grande performs "Last Christmas" at Disneyland, and singing duo Alex and Sierra performs "Love is an Open Door" from "Frozen." Guest Kobe Bryant comments on his daughters' love of the movie, and Marciano previews the first of three family reunions highlighted on the program, in which Matthew Solomon and his siblings plan to reunite their mother Bonnie with her best friend Ellen Panzer, whom she has not seen in several years since moving to California. Bonnie is stunned when her friend surprises her at Disneyland, and they comment on the strength of their friendship as Train performs "Shake Up Christmas." Rosie O'Donnell introduces several clips of children singing "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?", also from the movie, and Hyland introduces Laura Marano, who sings the same song with a children's chorus.
Trisha Yearwood performs "Prizefighter" at Disney World, and actor Anna Kendrick comments on her longtime love of "Into the Woods" and her excitement at portraying Cinderella in the new film adaptation of the musical. Maryah Sullivan, winner of the National Youth of the Year award, arrives in Cinderella's coach, and the "Big Hero 6" (2014) float appears in the parade as Roberts and Tebow discuss the upcoming Rose Bowl and other sports events. The cast of ABC Family's "Baby Daddy" introduce "Pretty Little Liars" star Lucy Hale, who performs "Mistletoe," and Miss America 2014 Kira Kazantsev talks to Roberts about the importance of celebrating one's individuality, an important theme in "Frozen." In Hawaii, the second family reunites as Wayne Hamill surprises his sister Leslie, who moved from Utah to Hawaii with her husband and children, and the siblings tell Hyland about their close relationship. Gavin DeGraw performs "I'll Be Home for Christmas" in Hawaii, and Olaf the snowman performs his song "In Summer" with a large group of children in the parade. Trey Songz performs "All I Want for Christmas is You" at Disneyland, and Tebow boards a "Star Wars"-themed float at Disneyland.
DeGraw performs "Fire," followed by Sabrina Carpenter with "Silver Nights," and the third family reunion features Sean Bolden and his family surprising his "super-mom" Frenzella at the Magic Kingdom. Prince Royce performs "Feliz Navidad," and Tebow hangs out with the gingerbread men in the parade as Roberts introduces the National Cheerleading Association and the National Dance Alliance, who perform a number to "Run, Run, Rudolph." Train performs "Cadillac, Cadillac," and *NSYNC star AJ McLean comments on his daughter's love of "Frozen" as the three highlighted families enjoy their time at the theme parks. Yearwood performs "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," followed by Grande's "Santa Tell Me," and the "Frozen"-themed floats finally make their appearance in the parade as Lexi Walker performs the film's iconic and Oscar-winning song "Let It Go."
