Summary
One in this comedy series about a recently-divorced psychologist forced to live with her carefree brother. In this episode, Valerie's awkward one-night stand with Leon becomes yet more uncomfortable when Alex invites him to stay for breakfast and Laura asks her mother questions about the encounter. At work, Valerie tells Leia about her impulsive actions, and Leia invites her out for the evening. Back at home, Leon nervously asks Alex's advice on romancing Valerie, explaining that he was recently jilted by a cheating fiancée, and Alex encourages him to "date around" rather than settling on one person so soon. At school, Laura finds herself attracted to Michael, the photography teacher, and Valerie tries to ease her agitation at a high-octane spinning class. Alex brings Leon out on the town with him and introduces him to Skye and Leonore, while Val's evening with Leia and her twentysomething girlfriends proves uncomfortable when they interrogate her for career advice.
Laura reluctantly heads to a house party with her friends, and Leia and the other women encourage Val to pursue James, an attractive young waiter. Laura is arrested for underage drinking when the teen party is broken up by the cops, and Alex finds himself in a similar situation when, determined to help Leon loosen up, he attempts to buy cocaine from an undercover policeman. Val visits James at home, though she is put off by his roommates and general immaturity, and their would-be tryst is interrupted by phone calls from Laura and Alex, whom an irritated Val is then forced to retrieve from jail.
