SCREAM QUEENS: GHOST STORIES (TV)
Summary
One in this comedic horror series featuring rotating storylines.
Boone plots with an unknown party to kill Gigi the following night. His disguise briefly falls off and he is spotted by Chanel #3; she still believes he was killed by the Red Devil and thus assumes that he is a ghost. He takes advantage of her misapprehension and scares her off. Chanel #1 tells her cronies about Chad’s proposal, and how she is having dinner with his family for Thanksgiving. In truth, Chad merely invited her to Thanksgiving, but did not propose marriage to her, although she believes that such a proposal is inevitable. Chad also mentions that a woman committed suicide at his lavish family estate and that the house is now supposedly haunted. Chanel #1 does not care, hoping that her marriage to Chad will make her “super-loaded.” The other Chanels are worried that the killer may strike that night, as it is the last night of existence for the Kappa Kappa Tau sorority. Grace elects to stay on campus for a time; she is still angry at her father and does not wish to spend Thanksgiving with him. Zayday feels that it is unsafe for her to remain on campus alone and invites her to spend Thanksgiving with her and her grandmother. Grace accepts her invitation.
Chanel #3 tells the others about her encounter with Boone’s “ghost,” although they are skeptical of the veracity of her story. Denise has the Chanels gather around the fireplace to tell them ghost stories, hoping that it will help to ease their fears. Her stories include that of the Kappa, the monster from Japanese folklore, which Denise claims lurks in toilets waiting to pull unsuspecting victims in. Her plan fails, making the girls more terrified than ever, particularly when she tells another story about a Japanese serial killer who kills people based on their selection of toilet paper. Boone visits Chad, who also believes that he is a ghost. Boone plays along, claiming that he has “unfinished business” and has come back to take Zayday on a date, claiming that if he can engage her in sexual intercourse, it will allow him to remain among the living. The Red Devil attacks Denise in the bathroom and attempts to kill her, but she manages to get away. She locks herself in a room with the Chanels and demands to hear a ghost story from them. Hester tells a story set in the 1950’s about a young woman being stalked by a serial killer.
Zayday and Earl Grey kiss for the first time, and he leaves for the moment to fetch a few things from his room. As soon as he leaves, Boone climbs through Zayday’s window, much to her shock. He claims that he has come back from the dead to romance her, but she retorts that she doesn’t believe in ghosts and assumes that he merely faked his own death. Grace comes in and sees through Boone’s deception as well; they accuse him of being the Red Devil and try to apprehend him. In the struggle Boone accidentally tumbles out of a window and falls to the ground. Zayday and Grace tell the others about what happened and Chanel #5 leaves, feeling that it is not safe to remain in the sorority house. The Red Devil sneaks up behind Earl Grey as he is returning and stabs him to death; he takes off his mask and reveals himself to be Boone. Chanel #5 finds herself in a situation similar to Hester’s ghost story when a truck driver behind her warns her about a murderer in the back seat of her car. The Red Devil soon appears and murders the truck driver as Chanel #5 drives off.
Hester confronts Chad, demanding to know why he did not ask her to go home with him for Thanksgiving. He lists off various reasons, and she makes a veiled threat before leaving him be. Zayday is devastated over Earl Grey’s death, and Chanel #5’s encounter with the Red Devil is largely ignored. Grace deduces that Boone is one of the two people acting as the Red Devil and tries to determine what course of action to take. Hester suddenly yells at Chanel #1 and tells her that she had sex with Chad as an act of revenge and is now pregnant with his child. Chanel #1 confronts Chad about this encounter and he confirms that it is true. He says he feels obligated to marry her, but Chanel #1 is furious at this and threatens to kill Chad. She attempts to appeal to the other Chanels for support and involve them in a conspiracy to murder Hester, although they are unwilling to take part in such a scheme. Detective Chisholm speaks to Grace and Zayday about Boone’s appearance and calls in an investigator from a paranormal investigation unit to assist in the search for him; he also believes that Boone is a ghost, much to Grace and Zayday’s frustration. They leave and call out Dean Munsch for allowing so many people to die under her watch. She sees their point and vows to take Detective Chisolm off the case. She also takes the opportunity to reveal to Grace and Zayday that the baby born in the bathtub at Kappa Kappa Tau was actually a set of twins, hypothesizing that Boone was the fraternal twin. Neither Zayday nor Grace can determine how the babies ended up with Gigi.
Boone converses with the Red Devil about his failure to seduce Zayday. Gigi arrives and lambasts Boone for his failure to obey her plan. Boone becomes indignant and talks about how hard he worked to convincingly fake his death and how Gigi will never be a suitable substitute for his real mother. He and the Red Devil corner her, but suddenly the Red Devil betrays Boone and stabs him to death. The Chanels attempt to feed Hester various foodstuffs said to be damaging to embryos in an attempt to counteract her pregnancy. Hester admits that she is not actually pregnant but says Chad believes that she is, and she will use this to her advantage by accompanying Chad to Thanksgiving anyway. Chanel #1 apologizes to Hester for making her feel like an “outcast,” but once she is close to Hester pushes her down the stairwell, seemingly killing her. Chanel #1 feels morally justified in what she did and gets the other Chanels to help transport her into the meat locker. Commercials deleted.
