SCHITT'S CREEK: JAZZAGALS (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about an extravagantly wealthy family forced to relocate to an eccentric small-town motel after a financial disaster.
David discovers that moths have made their way into his clothing collection and decides to construct a chest for his clothes out of spare cedar wood behind the motel. Stevie is highly skeptical of David’s ability to do so. Moira discovers that Jocelyn leads the “Jazzagals,” an all-female acapella group, and says she would like to join, claiming that she has a background in Broadway. Mutt arrives to pick up some of Alexis’s things and finds David in the midst of preliminary work on his chest. Mutt says that he has experience in carpentry and offers to help David, and David accepts. Moira visits Jocelyn and offers to join the Jazzagals, explaining that she is “offer-only.” However, Jocelyn insists that she must audition along with everyone else. Johnny gets into a discussion with Bob about doing more around the garage to help him, and later a customer pulls up while Bob is out; Johnny decides to try to help the man himself despite his lack of car maintenance knowledge.
Stevie discovers that Mutt is helping David build his chest, much to her surprise, and she takes the opportunity to make fun of David for being far out of his element. Moira interrupts one of the Jazzagals’ rehearsals in order to audition for them. She becomes intimidated upon seeing Lena, the soloist, perform. Johnny sits Bob down to talk about his frequent absences from the garage and talks about the various customers he helped while he was away. However, Bob informs him that he accidentally sold a car already belonging to another man. Johnny says he will correct his mistake. Mutt works to construct David’s chest while David watches. Mutt confides in David that he is starting to feel “suffocated” by Alexis’s constant presence, as she has not left his house in over a week. David does not want her to move back and recommends that Mutt set aside time every day to “escape” from her. Moira becomes too nervous to sing and tries to excuse herself from the rehearsal. The others encourage her to stay, believing her hype about her “professional” singing background. At their urging she puts on her audition, although her performance proves to be off-putting and unimpressive, partially because she cannot seem to remember the words to her song. Alexis returns, insisting that she needed some time apart from Mutt. She insists that the decision was hers, although David realizes that it was Mutt’s, and that Alexis is afraid that he is breaking up with her. Commercials deleted.
