Summary
The 1993 Radio Mercury Awards, given by the Radio Creative Fund, recognizes creative excellence in radio advertising and was named in honor of Orson Welles's celebrated "Mercury Theatre on the Air," on which the famous 1938 broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" was heard. The Mercury Grand Prize, honoring the best radio advertising of the year, was awarded to the creative team at Wieden & Kennedy for work on behalf of Nike. Mercury Gold and Mercury Silver awards were given in the categories of humor, non-humor, music, and sound design.
