BENSON & HEDGES CIGARETTES: DISADVANTAGES {AN ADVERTISING ALBUM: 1950-1990}
Summary
This commercial for Benson & Hedges 100 mm cigarettes highlights the disadvantages people put up with to smoke them. Since they are even longer than king-size, they keep getting in people's way. A mechanic is shown slamming the hood of a car, cutting his cigarette in half. A restaurant worker operating a juicer gets his cigarette caught in the machinery. Finally a motorcyclist's cigarette is crushed when the visor on his helmet falls down. The announcer adds that Benson & Hedges cigarettes must be good, since people put up with so much to smoke them. This commercial was selected for inclusion in the U.S. and International Television/Cinema Classic Hall of Fame as part of the 1986 Clio Awards.
