NISSAN: HUMAN ENGINEERING
{THE ADVERTISING OF CHIAT/DAY: EXAMINING THE NEW
CREATIVITY: PART FOUR: TOAST OF THE EIGHTIES}
Summary
In this commercial for Nissan, several engineers at a Nissan factory are shown discussing the qualities they want the car they're designing to have. "You think about the person you're designing for," a woman says, "and then you design the car around it." Another man explains that by approaching technology from a human standpoint, they are helping to humanize it. But when another member of the design team observes that "you are what you drive," his colleagues all agree that he sounds like a clichŽ. Slogan (supered): "Nissan. Built for the human race."
