KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL: CHIEF IRON EYES CODY
{ADVERTISING COUNCIL EXHIBITION: CONTROVERSY}
Summary
In this public service announcement for Keep America Beautiful, a native American identified as Chief Iron Eyes Cody is shown paddling his canoe down a river. Everywhere he looks, he sees the effects of littering and industrial pollution. In a voice-over, the announcer explains that some people have respect for this nation's natural beauty, but unfortunately many people don't. As a single tear rolls down the American Indian's cheek, the announcer adds that since people start pollution, they can also stop it. Slogan (supered): "Keep America Beautiful."
