NIKE: STANLEY'S SUPER BOWL SPEECH {DENNIS HOPPER}
{THE SUPER BOWL: SUPER SHOWCASE FOR COMMERCIALS,
1995}
Summary
In this commercial for Nike, Dennis Hopper appears in the role of a crazed ex-professional referee named Stanley Craver, who is still completely obsessed with the game of football. Standing on a pedestal, he delivers a speech in praise of his favorite sport. "Football!," he rants. "The ballet of bulldozers, the moments of grace in a sea of fury." He goes on to say that after seeing the locker rooms, smelling the shoes, storming the field, singing the songs and hearing the footsteps, he's more convinced than ever that football is the greatest game in the world.
