HAWAIIAN EYE: I WED THREE WIVES {SECOND SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this series of dramas about a private detective agency based in Hawaii.
The famous actor Mark Hamilton is flying out to Hawaii for vacation; Tracy and Tom know that his real reason for going is to escape his three ex-wives, to whom he owes alimony payments. Across the street from 77 Sunset Strip, Mark’s three ex-wives, Mavis, Sharon, and Nora, all meet to discuss their plan to fly out to Hawaii in pursuit of Mark. Mark arrives in Honolulu and meets Tracy, who has been hired to keep Mark secluded, away from the eyes of the press or anyone else.
Mark’s ex-wives arrive, staying at the same hotel as they try to find Mark. Nora recounts her marriage to Mark; she was forced to give up her singing career and work two jobs, then Mark left her when she became pregnant with his child. Mavis attempts to find out Mark’s location. The ex-wives run into Tracy, but they can get nothing out of him. Meanwhile, Henry, Mark’s lawyer, meets with him; Mark is in trouble with the IRS for tax evasion. He gets a telegram saying his Parisian ex-girlfriend committed suicide, but doesn’t seem to care.
Eventually Mark becomes stir-crazy and decides to rescind his orders not to be disturbed. Henry voices his contempt for Mark, prompting Mark to smack him in the face. Henry coldly departs. The ex-wives discover where Mark is staying and confront him in his room. Mark tries to weasel his way out of paying them their alimony, but they pull a gun on him and kidnap him. Cy, Mark’s assistant, alerts Tracy to Mark’s disappearance.
The ex-wives take Mark back to their rented house and keep an overnight vigil on him, waiting until he caves in and pays them. While holding the gun on him, Nora explains that she wants the money to help raise their young son. Mark convinces her that he still loves her. Tracy and Cy track down the ex-wives by using their license plate number. While reminiscing, Mark manages to get Mavis drunk and she passes out. He and Nora are left alone together, but he’s interrupted by Sharon before he can try anything.
Tracy and Cy arrive just in time to see Mark, having taken the gun away from Sharon. He promises to pay the women their alimony and not to press charges. Upon returning, they find Henry dead in Mark’s room. Tracy meets in private with Nora, who maintains that she still loves Mark and believes he loves her back. To prove her wrong, Tracy has her listen from hiding as he meets with Mark. Mark admits to deceiving his wives and calls Nora “stupid” for believing him. She emerges and admits that while Mavis was unconscious, she gave him the keys to their car and was gone for two hours. Tracy surmises that it was during this time that he killed Henry and Mark is arrested. Tracy explains that Mark killed Henry because he threatened to reveal Mark’s ownership of a handful of European corporations. Includes commercials.
