MR. PEEPERS: FINDING THE ENGAGEMENT RING (TV)
Summary
One in this series of live comedies concerning the life of Robinson Peepers, a mild-mannered junior high school science teacher. Mr. Peepers searches for an engagement ring during his lunch break, as he plans to propose to Nancy that night. The only other person who knows is Harvey, who promises Peepers that he will not tell anyone. However, he accidentally lets the news slip to Mrs. Gurney, but tries to get her to keep the secret. However, she can't resist talking about it and soon the entire school knows, stopping Peepers and Nancy to congratulate them, leaving Nancy confused. Harvey helps Peepers pick out the engagement ring, but soon Marge catches them coming out of the jewelry store. They try to make up an excuse but she spots the ring and realizes the truth. Peepers and Harvey are hopeful that she won't tell Nancy. However, that night Nancy calls Marge and she figures out the truth based on Marge's comments. She is extremely nervous but happy about it and plans to say yes to Peepers. She and her mother try to break the news gently to her father, who seems unhappy at the prospect of his daughter getting married. Peepers comes over to take Nancy out that night and her parents fuss over him, much to his confusion. After dinner, Peepers takes Nancy out to a nearby park and finally works up to courage to propose; she accepts. Tape ends abruptly. Commercials deleted.
