WHO'S THE BOSS?: PARTY DOUBLE (TV)

Summary

One in this series of comedies about advertising executive Angela Bower and her live-in housekeeper -- former pro-baseball player Tony Micelli -- and their respective families. Mona and Angela get into an argument spurred by Mona's desire for a raise, and Angela says that Mona has no idea how hard her job is. Angela is invited to a dinner-dance for the New York Committee for the Arts. Tony and Mona both plead with her to take them when they learn that the guest of honor will be none other than Frank Sinatra. Angela decides to bring Tony with her, much to his joy. However, she soon learns she has to leave town to settle an important account, and Mona decides to swipe Angela's non-transferable ticket and pose as her, bringing Tony along with her. Tony believes Angela gave the ticket to Mona willingly and can't wait to meet his idol Sinatra. They arrive and find that security is quite heavy around the party to prevent gatecrashers from entering. Tony learns about Mona's deception but goes along with it anyway. Mona gets nervous when a business associate of Angela's approaches her at the party. Angela returns home early and sees Tony and Mona on television coverage of the dinner. While Tony searches for Sinatra, Mona finds it is increasingly difficult to pose as Angela, especially when posed a number of advertising-centric questions. As her deception quickly unravels, Angela manages to infiltrate the party. She pulls Mona aside, chastising her for her ruse, but Mona apologizes and says she understands the difficulty of Angela's work now. Soon Mona, Angela, and Tony are all thrown out by security just as Sinatra arrives. Tony, despondent, stops to get a club soda at the reception bar and is approached by Sinatra himself. Tony is beside himself with joy at meeting him, and he introduces them to Angela and Mona, both star-struck. The episode ends as the three of them return and Tony, overwhelmed by the events of the evening, passes out. Includes commercials.
