RANGO: THE SPY WHO WAS OUT COLD (TV)

Summary

One in this comedy series about a bumbling Wild West Texas Ranger named Rango and his Native American sidekick Pink Cloud.

In this episode, Rango becomes interested in the "science" of phrenology, and Captain Horton meets with a Secret Service agent, Carter, who is in town to track down some gun smugglers. Horton agrees to remove his rangers from the case to avoid compromising Carter's undercover mission, though Rango is sure that he can solve the case himself. Mistaking Carter for the criminal, Rango attempts to impersonate a barber in order to feel his head for "villainous" bumps. He is thwarted when Carter runs out in pursuit of the real criminal, Morgan. Morgan updates the "barber," his partner Stacey, who agrees to move the stolen guns in order to avoid detection.

Rango and Pink Cloud search Carter's hotel room, and a hidden list of the stolen items seems to point even more strongly toward his guilt. He drags Carter in front of Captain Horton, but Horton manages to cover for his "friend" without revealing the true mission, leading Rango to believe that Horton has been seduced into a life of crime. He catches Stacey in the act of moving the guns, but Stacey claims to be the undercover Secret Service agent himself and instructs Rango to hit the "crooked" Horton over the head. But when Carter rushes in and catches the criminals in the act, Rango finally realizes his misunderstanding. Later, despite the mishaps, Rango is given a medal for "bravery." Includes commercials.
