MR. PEEPERS: THE RUMOR (TV)
Summary
One in this series of live comedies concerning the life of Robinson Peepers, a mild-mannered junior high school science teacher.
Superintendant Bascomb sends Peepers to greet a new teacher, Ms. Tracey Brown, at the train station, and to help her get settled. He meets her at the station and she seems quite appreciative of his greeting, to the point where she kisses him several times on the cheek. A pair of old ladies witnesses this and believes that Peepers is cheating on Nancy, informing Mr. Remington of their suspicions. Meanwhile, Nancy and her parents plan to have Peepers over for dinner. Mr. Peepers checks Ms. Brown into the local hotel, where Mr. Remington sees her kiss him on the cheek, seemingly confirming his suspicions.
Mr. Peepers tells Nancy about Ms. Brown and she suggests inviting her to dinner with them. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Remington are devastated at the news of Peepers' apparent infidelity. Soon the Weskits learn about it as well. Mr. Remington, furious, barges in on Nancy and Peepers having dinner and accuses Peepers. Soon Mrs. Remington, the Weskits, and the police chief arrive, but Peepers and Nancy manage to straighten everything out before Ms. Brown arrives. Includes commercials.
