SPECTREMAN: APEMAN IN THE STREETS! {EPISODE 4} (TV)
Summary
One in this fantasy/science-fiction television series about a cyborg who battles a super-intelligent extraterrestrial ape-man and his mutant pollution monsters.
Continues from B:41203. Dr. Gori orders Karras to abandon Rita and concentrate on helping Zeron defeat Spectreman. Spectreman increases his size to match Zeron's and engages the creature in close combat. Zeron seems to be unbeatable, but Spectreman defeats him with some advice from Overlord. However, the battle drains Spectreman considerably, causing him to fall unconscious and revert to human form. Zeron's diversion allows Dr. Gori enough time to complete the construction of his secret lair. Chief Kurata and the Squad analyze samples from the contaminated lake and determine that they contain a substance of alien origin. George returns, beaten-up from his encounter, and Chief Kurata chides him for his unprofessionalism, firing him once again.
Karras and Dr. Gori begin abducting people off the street for some unknown purpose. Dr. Gori asks Karras to walk the streets of Tokyo in disguise in order to observe human behavior in order to better facilitate his invasion plans. He gives Karras the secondary objective of finding and destroying Spectreman as well. George tries to explain to Chief Kurata the reason behind all the disappearances, but no one except Rita believes his story about Dr. Gori and his origins. She takes him out to lunch, where he explains the situation further. Meanwhile, Karras has a series of encounters in Tokyo, including frightening a trio of schoolgirls, attacking several men playing blackjack believing one of them to be Spectreman in disguise, and a visit to a dance club.
Reports of the more violent incidents with Karras appear on the news and George asks Overlord that he be permitted to transform into Spectreman. However, Overlord asks George to hold off for the time being, believing that Karras or Dr. Gori may expose themselves and grant them valuable information about their plans. George agrees, but is uncomfortable with sitting idly by while innocent people are harmed. Karras follows Rita and George while they are out together but gets sidetracked when a drunk takes him into a ramen shop, ending in disaster. Overlord contacts George and orders him to transform into Spectreman to stop Karras's rampage. He does and confronts Karras. Dr. Gori sends Karras reinforcements in the form of the captured humans, transformed into ape-men. The ape-men manage to temporarily overpower Spectreman, but soon Spectreman defeats them, causing them to revert to human form. Karras manages to escape in the fight. The episode ends as George returns to work and his co-workers decide to stop questioning George's more unusual characteristics. Commercials deleted.
