FRASIER: ADVENTURES IN PARADISE {PART 1 OF 2} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about Frasier Crane, a divorced psychiatrist who lives in Seattle and hosts a phone-in radio show. In this first half of this two-part episode, Frasier peruses a magazine article about Seattle's "up-and-comers" – which does not include himself or Niles – and sets his sights on sportswear designer Madeline Marshall. At Roz's urging, he calls her and asks her to dinner, and he tells Martin, Niles and Daphne that he has a "good feeling" about the impromptu date. At a French restaurant, the two bond over their respective challenging divorces, though their conversation is interrupted when the restaurant's owner, Ettienne, has a loud and dramatic fight with his wife and daughter about the latter's pregnancy. The family begs "the doctor from the radio" to help them smooth things over, and everyone, especially Madeline, is impressed when Frasier offers some sage advice and resolves the dispute.
Two weeks later, Frasier is on cloud nine about his idyllic romance, though Roz grows exasperated with his endless rhapsodizing about Madeline. The happy couple decides to celebrate their first night of intimacy with an exotic vacation, though by the time Frasier gets home to Daphne, Niles and Martin, he begins to have second thoughts about the decision, wondering if the relationship is proceeding too quickly. Niles, in his usual tizzy over Daphne, warns Frasier against trapping himself in a "stale Maris," but Martin recalls his instantaneous connection with the late Hester and urges Frasier to follow his heart. Frasier and Madeline head off to Bora Bora, but their romance is abruptly halted by the appearance of their hotel next-door neighbor: Lilith. Continues on B:49345. Commercials deleted.
