HAPPY DAYS: BABY, IT'S COLD INSIDE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of comedies about life in the 1950s. In this episode, Lori Beth gets a flight to Greenland to visit Richie on his base, their first reunion in four months. Then, Howard reveals to Marion that he has two free tickets to New York due to his success at selling Happy Plungers. In Manhattan, he will pretend to interview for a job with the company, though they’ll use the time to sightsee. He admits that getting away from the ever-clinging Potsie is part of his motivation. Meanwhile, Fonz is going to Omaha for a teaching convention and to brush up on his library skills. With everyone out of town, Joanie is enlisted to take care of Richie Jr., who has a cold. Before taking them to the airport, Al asks Howard and Marion to bring him back some bagels from the Bronx. Once everyone leaves, Jenny tries to convince Joanie to throw a party. Later, Joanie makes Chachi pretend they are husband and wife. Meanwhile, the boiler breaks and it begins to get chilly. Then, Jenny arrives with a huge party crew. Joanie is upset but, with Chachi’s help, allows the party to go on with some very strict rules. Soon, everyone is quietly sitting around listening to a small radio, with no one having any fun. Later, repair man Rudi comes by to fix the boiler, but Joanie questions if she should use the blank check that Howard left her for emergencies. Under much pressure, Joanie eventually decides to pay Rudi his steep $200 fee. Joanie is nervous about telling her parents what happened when they return. Howard is initially upset but Fonz helps Joanie out by examining the boiler and stating that she made the right decision. Finally, when Al arrives to get his bagels, Howard has to admit that he ate them all. Commercials deleted.
