SPIN CITY: KLUMAGEDDON, PART 1 {SEASON THREE FINALE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the Deputy Mayor of New York City and his co-workers at City Hall as they deal with problems both professional and personal. Nikki is sick and Mike is taking care of her. Heidi Klum returns to the office, brought in by the mayor to serve as the spokesperson of New York City's first annual "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals" week. Mike is surprised by her arrival and is torn between his lingering feelings for her and the issue of his commitment to Nikki. The mayor is frustrated at how bored reporters seem at his press conferences, and Paul recommends including jokes and comedic elements. At first his attempts at comedy seem to work. Meanwhile, Stacey and Stuart try to tell Carter that he is too self-absorbed to recognize an encounter with "true love," something which Carter disputes. Heidi tells Mike that she misses him and he tries to politely turn down her advances. However, he fails to mention the full extent of his relationship with Nikki. Heidi is persistent and insists that she will win him back. James confronts the mayor, concerned that his new comedy style is not only devoid of humor but also that he is ignoring important topics in his speeches. The mayor attempts his comedy on workers in the office, but finds no laughter, leaving him disappointed. Mike gets a call from Nikki, still in the throes of her illness, and gets a call on the other line from Heidi at a photo shoot. He alternates between the two, unable to decide which one he would rather be with. When James laughs at one of the mayor's improvised jokes, the mayor makes a deal with him: if he can make James laugh, he can keep his jokes in his press conferences. However, making James laugh proves to be more difficult than he thought. Following her press conference, Heidi and Mike go back to his office, where she once again tries to make advances on him. Finally Mike tells her that he loves Nikki and that he is committed to her. Heidi abandons her pursuit of Mike instantly, leaving him somewhat disappointed. Mike returns to Nikki, now recovered from her illness, and tells her that he is now fully committed to her. However, his comments about Heidi leave her angry, since he makes it sound as though he actually wanted her more than Nikki. Includes commercials.
