BOY MEETS WORLD: SHOW ME THE LOVE {SEASON SEVEN PREMIERE} (TV)

Summary

The seventh season premiere in this comedy series about teenager Cory Matthews, who balances his theories on life and friendship against those of his off-the-wall Philadelphia-based family. In this episode, Cory and Shawn return for another year of college, discussing Topanga's parents' split and Shawn's hopes for an official relationship with Angela. Topanga arrives and Cory is overjoyed to see her, but she explains that her parents have filed for divorce and that she does not think she can continue with her plans to marry Cory, as she now doubts that true love exists. Cory assures her that they are different and would not hurt each other, and Shawn tries to persuade Angela that they would be a good match, but she tells him that they are merely friends, and both boys are annoyed at the girls' lack of faith in love. Jack and Rachel then reveal that they have split up as well, wondering what to do about their living situation, but they are distracted by the arrival of Eric, who grandly reveals his new haircut. Cory begs Feeny to "butt in" as usual, and Feeny tells Topanga that she must think only of herself and Cory, not her parents. Eric then informs Feeny that he is moving back in with Jack and will no longer be sleeping in Feeny's car, a fact of which the teacher was unaware.

Morgan prepares for her first date and Alan panics, annoying Amy with his double standards about his sons' and daughter's love lives. Cory assures Shawn that Feeny's words will fix their problems, but Angela and Topanga arrive and end their respective relationships, with Topanga saying that she cannot risk turning into her parents. Alan continues fretting about Morgan's outfit and her newfound maturity, but her first date seems to go well. A miscommunication leads Rachel to ask Topanga and Angela to move in with her, as they want to avoid living near Cory and Shawn, and Jack gives in, meaning that he and Eric have nowhere to live. Amy and Alan are still fighting about Alan's inability to deal with his children growing up, but Cory is inspired by their bond and resolves to convince Topanga that "love never dies" by journeying to Pittsburgh and reminding the Lawrences of their feelings for one another, dragging a reluctant Shawn along. At the same time, Eric moves back into Feeny's car, this time with Jack in tow. Includes commercials and promos.
