LUCY SHOW, THE: LUCY AT MARINELAND {FOURTH SEASON PREMIERE} (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series starring Lucille Ball as Lucy Carmichael.
Lucy has moved out to Los Angeles in order to be closer to her daughter, and is enrolling Jerry in a military school so that she can be free to look for a job. She finds out that Major Grayson, in charge of the school’s admissions, is taking the school’s baseball team on a field trip to Marineland in order to see Jimmy Piersall, Jerry’s favorite baseball player. Since Major Grayson isn’t allowed to take Jerry, Lucy offers to take him to Marineland herself.
She goes to her new bank to get money from her trust find to take Jerry. She finds Mr. Mooney has been transferred to California and is still in charge of her fund, much to their mutual disappointment. They argue about Lucy wanting to take out money for Marineland, but Lucy manages to guilt Mr. Mooney into driving them there. Arriving at Marineland, Lucy takes Jerry to see Jimmy Piersall, and they have a chat as Jimmy autographs a baseball for Jerry.
Afterwards, Lucy, Jerry, and Mr. Mooney go to see the whale show. Lucy is thrilled at seeing the whales and in her excitement loses Jerry’s autographed baseball over a railing, landing in a tank of water. Determined to get it back, Lucy gets on a raft into the tank, where she is pushed around and played with by seals and dolphins. Mr. Mooney attempts to help but ends up plunged into the tank alongside Lucy. Finally Lucy manages to retrieve Jerry’s ball with a little bit of aid from Major Grayson, who assures her that he will enroll Jerry immediately to get him away from her. Commercials deleted.
