LAVERNE & SHIRLEY: LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY MEET FABIAN (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about two young working women, following their humorous adventures from the 1950s through the 1960s.
In this episode, Laverne and Edna struggle with frigid temperatures in the building due to a broken boiler. Laverne tells Edna how Shirley is out in the cold, trying to score them some coveted tickets to a Fabian concert. Later, Lenny and Squiggy return with Shirley after rescuing her from freezing while waiting to get the tickets. Shirley struggles to reveal that she got no ducats as the show was sold out. Later, Frank calls in a favor to get tickets for the girls, but that show turns out to be a Jerry Vale concert. After hearing Rosie Greenbaum bragging about her tickets to a heartsick Shirley, Laverne claims to have gotten tickets, along with a pre-show dinner with Fabian. Rosie thinks Laverne and Shirley are lying and makes a bet with them. The loser will clean the winner’s apartment with a toothbrush.
Afterward, Laverne tells Shirley that she lied, which inspires Shirley to cook up a plan. The girls pretend to be French maids as they bring dinner to Fabian’s hotel room. Getting caught by a bellboy who’s about to report them, they crawl onto the window ledge to avoid being arrested. The gals find themselves scared when the returning bellboy closes and locks the window – leaving them stranded on the twelfth floor outside Fabian’s room. Ultimately, Fabian gets back from a rehearsal and sees Laverne and Shirley on the ledge, immediately bringing them inside and getting them warm. Fabian gives the pair backstage passes before serenading them with “Turn Me Loose.” He also poses for a picture with the girls kissing him on each cheek. The next day, Laverne and Shirley recount their adventures to Lenny and Squiggy while Rosie pays off her lost bet. Commercials deleted.
