Summary
One in this series of comedies about Dick and Joanna Loudon, who run a country inn in Vermont.
In this episode, Dick is frustrated when his plans to attend a Boston basketball game with his friends are halted by his pal Tommy's plans to elope – yet again; Kirk and George eagerly offer themselves as replacement travel companions. Joanna and Leslie happily make plans for a girls' night as the guys head to Massachusetts. Joanna is overwhelmed when "Hill Street Blues" star Daniel Travanti calls to reserve a room. In Boston, Dick, Kirk and George head to the Celtics game, though their bench passes prove to be less enjoyable than they believed, particularly when Dick misplaces his pass and finds himself ousted from the game.
Back at the inn, Joanna and Leslie chat about their respective celebrity crushes as they impatiently await Travanti's arrival. Kirk and George awkwardly leave Dick behind as they are invited to celebrate the Celtics' victory in the locker room. Dick returns home in defeat, telling Joanna that the trip did not quite go as planned. Everyone retires to bed – just as Daniel Travanti finally arrives and is checked in by Kirk, who begs him to put in an appearance at his café. Commercials deleted.
