WILL & GRACE: A NEW LEASE ON LIFE (TV)
Summary
One in this comedy series about the friendship between Will Truman, a gay lawyer, and Grace Adler, a straight interior decorator.
In this episode, Grace admits that she must move out of Danny's apartment now that they have broken up and eagerly asks if she can live with Will; he quickly shoots her down, pointing out that Jack is already staying with him. Upon arriving home, however, he realizes that he is fed up with all of Jack's annoying roommate habits. At work, Karen sorts through the spoils of her latest shopping spree and suggests that Grace simply reunite with Danny in order to stay in his nice apartment. Grace declares that she does not want to "settle" for someone she does not truly love. Over lunch, Will and Grace read through the classifieds and Grace again floats the idea of living with him; he convinces her that she needs to start fresh and be on her own.
Will complains to his client Harlin about his troubles with Jack, and Grace calls to tell him that she has found an apartment – in Brooklyn Heights. Will visits the place and sees that Grace is happy with it, but he seems taken aback to find that she has signed a two-year lease. In the morning, he awkwardly asks Jack to move out, explaining that he has decided to invite Grace in after all. Annoyed, Jack hurries to Grace's office and meets Karen for the first time, immediately taken with her glamour and feisty demeanor. The two strike up an instant friendship, though Karen is dismayed by the news that Grace may live with Will, feeling that doing so will hurt her chances of a future relationship. Will heads to Brooklyn and begs Grace to change her mind, but she declares that she has made her choice and is ready to live alone. Later, however, she realizes that she misses her best friend and heads back to Manhattan, joining Will in their new home. Commercials deleted.
