SOUTH PARK: IKE'S WEE-WEE (TV)
Summary
One in this series of animated programs for adults about the town of South Park, which is populated by an oversexed school chef, a psychotic teacher, Jesus Christ, and a group of acerbic, foul-mouthed youngsters. In this episode, the dorky school counselor, Mr. Mackey, comes to teach the children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, and he passes around a small sample of marijuana so the students can familiarize themselves with it. As a result, he is fired from his job and becomes despondent. Kyle invites his friend to his little brother Ike’s bris, although none of them know precisely what it entails. Chef gives them a vague lecture about the evils of drugs, and then says he is not coming to the bris on principle, frustrated when he realizes how little the boys understand about the tradition. Mr. Mackey faces condemnation from parents all over town and is kicked out of his apartment, and finally turns to alcohol for the first time, followed by pot. Kyle investigates and is horrified to hear that a bris is a castration ceremony, and he and the other boys decide to save Ike by hiding him in Nebraska. Kyle punts him onto a train and promises to collect him again once their parents have seen sense.
Mr. Mackey meets some high-school stoners, who introduce him to LSD. Kyle makes a “dummy” Ike to fool his parents, but it is soon attacked by a dog and run over by a truck, much to his parents’ horror. At the “funeral,” Kyle is shocked to learn that Ike was actually adopted from Canada, and he angrily reveals that Ike is still alive, annoyed that he wasted so much effort on someone who was not truly his brother and too distracted to care when Kenny falls into an open grave and is killed. Kyle and his parents find the boy in Nebraska and bring him home, and they carry on with the bris as planned. Elsewhere, Mr. Mackey has embraced the hippie lifestyle and romances a groovy young woman, traveling to India with her for further mind-expansion, but his former school colleagues kidnap him with the help of the A-Team and send him to the Betty Ford clinic. Kyle is still upset about the situation, but Ike wins his heart again by showing him photos of them together, and Kyle leaps to his defense when the rabbi arrives—but once they learn the true specifics of circumcision, including the fact that Kyle had the same procedure done as a baby, they relent, and Kyle reflects on the lessons he has learned about family. Back at school, Mr. Mackey returns from rehab with a new understanding of drugs, although his lecture to the children is as boring as ever. Commercials deleted.
